Bord Gais Eireann

Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: Service desk and desktop management managed services. Bord Gáis Éireann (Bord Gais) wishes to procure new service desk and desktop management managed service. An existing contract with an external supplier is in place and is due to expire in June 2010. Bord Gáis Éireann has a number of key business and commercial objectives that it aims to achieve through procurement of an outsourced managed service: — Establish new contract for a service desk and desktop management managed services, — Service optimisation based on industry standard best practice in service management, — Transformation and rationalisation of multiple points of user contact into a single point of contact servicing the whole of Bord Gais IT, — A continual improvement culture embedded in the managed service to facilitate existing and changing business needs, — Optimised cost profile for the delivery and support of service desk and desktop management services, — Improved customer satisfaction through the measured application of service management best practices, — Improved delivery certainty for the services provided by the service desk and desktop management, — Reduced risk profile for the delivery of IT services by the service desk and desktop management, — End-to-end visibility of demand on IT with supporting MI reporting. The required services will support multiple office sites in Dublin (9) and Cork (4) and a small number of regional offices within the Republic of Ireland (<10). There are approximately 1 500 staff members, approximately 70 % of which use desktops and the remaining 30 % use laptops. There are approximately 10 models of desktop and 10 models of laptop in use in Bord Gáis Éireann and 20 supporting images in total (one to one relationship between model and image). A more detailed description of the services required will be included in the contract documents which will be issued in the course of the competition. It is envisaged that the contract to be awarded will cover the requirements of all Bord Gáis Eireann Republic of Ireland divisions and subsidiaries. Please note however that Bord Gáis Éireann reserves the right at any time to put in place different or alternative arrangements for all or any of the service desk and desktop management managed services which are the subject of this competition, for any of its business divisions and/or subsidiaries and accordingly to vary and/or terminate the contract hereby advertised (including without limit as to scope) or any of the services to be provided pursuant to that contract.
