Data hosting and IT managed services - Energy supply. Bórd Gáis Éireann (Bord Gáis) seeks to engage a single IT Managed Service Provider for the delivery of a suite of SLA-governed data hosting and managed IT services (to ITIL standard) from modern data centre facilities (to TIA-942 Tier3 or equivalent standard) for the benefit of its Energy business. Certain of these services are currently provided on a shared services basis with the Bórd Gáis Networks business. Directive 2009/73/EC (the "Third Directive") mandates separation of the Bord Gáis Networks and Energy businesses. In particular separate IT arrangements will be required for each of the two businesses. It is in this context that Bórd Gáis now wishes to award the contract described in this notice for the benefit of its Energy business. A more detailed description of the contract and the services required will be in the pre-qualification questionnaire which will be issued to all candidates who respond to this notice and in the other contract documents to be issued in the course of the competition. Candidates should note that the precise range of services required may vary from time to time; further information is set out in the pre-qualification questionnaire. The contract for the provision of data hosting and managed IT services will be for an initial term of 5 years with an option for Bord Gáis to extend the term for up to a further 2 years. It will be subject to early termination rights for Bórd Gáis which will be provided for in the contract. It is envisaged that provision of the services will commence with effect from mid 2011. This is an indicative date only and may be subject to change at Bórd Gáis' discretion. It is expected that the contract to be awarded will cover a range of IT managed services for all Bórd Gáis Energy business divisions. Candidates should note however that Bórd Gáis reserves the right at any time and from time to time to put in place different or alternative arrangements for services for any of its business divisions and/or subsidiaries and accordingly to vary the scope and/or terms of and/or to assign or terminate the contract hereby advertised (or any part of the services to be provided thereunder). Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, Bórd Gáis may exercise this right because it is required to, or it considers it appropriate, to do so having regard to any arrangements implementing the unbundling requirements of theThird Directive in Ireland.
