Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Support, Maintenance and Enhancement of the Automated Passport System. The purpose of this procurement is to establish a contract with a supplier(s) for the support, maintenance and future enhancement of the Automated Passport System (APS) in the Department of Foreign Affairs. The Department is prepared to consider a range of service delivery models: e.g. the support and maintenance of specific components of the APS, the support and maintenance of the complete APS system by a single contractor, or a consortium bid. The Department has responsibility for the network and communications infrastructure, and for some of the hardware (Windows servers, desktops, printers). There are a number of operating systems and hardware platforms in use, including Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Sun Solaris.
