Provision of Support and Maintenance of the Rural Transport ITMS Booking System
The National Transport Authority seeks an experienced IT service supplier who can provide technical support and expertise to maintain and develop ICT elements of the Authority's business systems. The Authority will require a range of support services, some of which will be on an ongoing basis and others as needs arise. This contract will involve the provision of operation support and development services for ITMS, and for ad-hoc tasks on customisable end-user systems such as Databases, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and any other business systems that may be selected by the Authority in future.
The ITMS system is a modular suite of applications developed to manage the business processes associated with the provision of public transport in rural areas. The key component of the system is a booking system; bookings can be made through a call centre and the website.
The system (
www.locallink.ie) was developed and is currently supported by Cora Systems. The first ITMS phase went live in 2011 in the Sligo-Leitrim area. Since then, the system has been rolled out to 14 transport coordination units (TCU โ also known as Local Link offices) with a further 4 to be rolled out. The contract for the management of the system was novated from Sligo/Leitrim to the NTA in December 2013. Since 2013, the NTA has enhanced the website and is developing a mobile app, which will be released in January 2015.
