The Department of Defence (DoD) is planning to implement a remote access to e-mail solution, using handheld devices. As part of the implementation of this solution, the DoD needs to purchase a number of ICT security technologies comprising new firewalls, reverse proxy devices and a multi-factor authentication solution. This procurement opportunity is also being used to purchase new firewalls for our strategic applications business continuity site.
The contract will cover 3 lots as described below. Companies may wish to bid for one, two or all three lots.
Lot 1: Firewalls and Support.
The supply, installation, configuration and testing of new firewall appliances in DoD HQ building in Station Road, Newbridge, Co. Kildare and in Mc Kee Barracks, Dublin 7, plus secondary support to DoD ICT personnel in the ongoing maintenance and management of all DoD firewalls (i.e. including existing Check Point firewalls in both Newbridge and in Renmore, Galway). This lot also includes an option to drawdown scheduled services and additional firewalls over the life of the contract.
Lot 2: Content Management Devices and Support.
The supply, installation, configuration and testing of new content management appliances in Newbridge plus secondary support to DoD ICT personnel in the ongoing maintenance and management of these appliances. This lot also includes an option to drawdown additional appliances over the life of the contract.
Lot 3: Multi-Factor Authentication Solution and Support.
The supply and implementation of a multi-factor authentication solution in Newbridge plus secondary support to DoD ICT personnel in the ongoing maintenance and management of this solution. This lot also includes an option to drawdown additional authentication tokens, software licences and backend hardware over the life of the contract.
