St Mary's Park, Kings Island, Limerick has been identified by Limerick City Council as a neighbourhood which requires regeneration in terms of both physical infrastructure and community renewal. The estate was built in the mid 1930's and contains approximately 450 houses (40% public and 60% private). Limerick City Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Project/Cost Management Consultants to develop a report setting out a detailed strategy for the implementation of a neighbourhood regeneration programme of St Mary's Park. The strategy document will need to consider and integrate the following: - physical renovation/reconstruction; - mobilisation and empowerment of residents/community; - improve management and housing services for tenants; - legal issues on ownership; - private sector investment; - anti-crime initiatives; - unemployment; - exit strategy. Limerick City Council propose to request for tender, prequalify, interview and award a contract to a successful Project Management Consultant, who will develop the master plan strategy and scope all necessary sub-advisory strands as required i.e. architectural, legal, planning etc. The document will require the full endorsement of the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and Limerick City Council.
