Conferring ceremonies are a key milestone in Maynooth University’s academic calendar and are of significant importance to our graduates and their families. The University confers approximately 4,000 graduates during each conferring cycle, with ceremonies typically taking place in: September (approximately 12 individual sessions over 4 days) October (approximately 5 sessions over 2 days) March (approximately 4 sessions over 2 days) During an on-campus conferring ceremony, each graduand is presented and receives their parchment on stage from the President as the Dean announces the graduands’ names. Academic faculty from the relevant department(s) are seated on stage, and the audience is comprised of family and friends attending in person. The University seeks to ensure that these ceremonies are captured and delivered to a high standard for both in-person attendees and remote viewers.
