Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Bioprocess Specialist Design Services. The National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) is a recently established institute providing training and research for the Bioprocessing Industry in Ireland. NIBRT is an innovative collaboration between four of Ireland's higher education institutes (UCD, TCD, DCU and IT Sligo), industry partners and other 3rd-level colleges. NIBRT would like to appoint a service provider to deliver Bioprocess Specialist Design Services regarding the design of facilities and equipment for a new state-of-the-art Research and Training Centre at Fosters Avenue, Belfield (Dublin 4). The successful Bioprocess Specialist service provider must have relevant experience and knowledge of the design and operation of mammalian cell culture based bioprocess for the production of monoclonal antibodies. Specialist skill sets will include but are not exclusive to: (i) Cell culture bioreactor design (glass, stainless steel and disposables) for batch, fed-batch and perfusion. (ii) Development of methodologies for fluid transfer/handling between processing stages and design of associated equipments. (iii) CIP/SIP systems. (iv) COP/SOP systems. (v) Design of harvest and clarification systems. (vi) Design of UF/DF skids. (vii) Design of chromatography packing skids. (viii) Design of chromatography systems. (ix) Design of autoclave and washer systems. (x) Bioprocess automation specialists. (xi) Design of bio-waste handling systems. (xii) Design of purified water system. (xiii) Specialists in the development of technical specifications for laboratory equipment. (xiv) Design of facilities and equipment to bio-safety level-2. (xv) Completion of all works to handover.
