UCD wishes to procure a storage solution to meet its University wide requirements for flexible file storage accessible by a wide variety of users and utilised by multiple applications. Typical applications include web accessible storage for students, archive storage, backup storage, mass storage for research groups, and collaborative storage for groups of users. The audience for this content includes staff, undergrad, postgrad and research students and the selected system must be capable of large-scale implementation and scalability. The scope of this project covers the implementation of: User storage access/interface software to facilitate easy access to storage and group collaboration internal and external to UCD. Information Life Cycle Software to facilitate the automatic policy based data archival to the appropriate storage media. Supply and implementation of associated hardware (online & nearline storage, backup, and servers) and systems software in compliance with UCD's high availability architecture. Maintenance, support and monitoring of the entire environment. Implementation and consultancy services to deliver the solution. Hosting and managed service for the complete solution (software & hardware). The University invites applications from any companies able to provide any of the above mentioned supplies or services. The tender may be divided into lots at the next stage and applicants can tender for one or more lots.
