Consultancy Services to prepare a Strategic Assessment and Preliminary Business Case for an Irish language based sports and community centre for CLG Na Gaeil Óga, Leamhcán (Lucan), Baile Átha Cliath

Na Gaeil Óga CLG

Na Gaeil Óga CLG organises more than 1,000 Irish language based events each year for participants aged 3 years and upwards. These include sports training, games, workshops, social and cultural events, Irish classes and parent and toddler activities. The club has 500 active members. At present, the club rents various facilities such as grass-based pitches, all-weather pitches, halls, gyms, ball walls and meeting rooms in Lucan and the surrounding areas to host its activities. The club’s members feel that a centrally located facility, managed by the club, would provide many advantages in terms of the development of both the club and the Irish language in the area. The club intends to engage a consultant to prepare a Strategic Assessment and Preliminary Business Case in accordance with the Infrastructure Guidelines issued by the Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform and as further detailed in the tender documents to support capital funding applications to various Government departments into the future. The club will be applying to An Roinn Forbartha Tuaite agus Pobail agus Gaeltachta for funding to undertake the Strategic Assessment and Preliminary Business Case.
