Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: Aircraft Pavement Rehabilitation (Framework). Shannon Airport is planning a programme of pavement rehabilitation works scheduled to commence in Autumn 2008. These will include, but not be limited to overlay and resurfacing of the existing taxiways and runway (including associated drainage and earthworks), pavement repairs and substantial modifications to and replacement of the existing AGL systems. It is currently expected that the work will be divided into the following packages which will be let as separate contracts: โ Rehabilitation of taxiways D1 and D2 which will include total pavement reconstruction on some areas, overlay and resurfacing of the entire pavement, upgrade of the airfield lighting system and provision of a new drainage system, โ Rehabilitation of the apron taxiway which will include total pavement reconstruction on some areas and overlay and resurfacing of other areas. Drainage and airfield lighting works may also be required, โ Rehabilitation of taxiway A which will include overlay and resurfacing of the entire pavement and upgrade of the airfield lighting system. Drainage improvement works may also be required, โ Rehabilitation of runway 06/24 which will include total pavement reconstruction on some areas, overlay and resurfacing of the entire pavement and upgrade of the airfield lighting system. Drainage improvement works may also be required. Dublin Airport Authority proposes to appoint a contractor or contractors to carry out these works which will take place in the context of an operational airfield. These works will be progressed to detailed design prior to tenders being invited.
