The Shannon Region located on Ireland's West Coast is one of the premier tourism regions in Ireland. The Region is synonymous with internationally recognised tourism brands and tourism innovation, including Bunratty Castle and the Medieval Banquets, the Cliffs of Moher and the Shannon River, Lough Derg, the Burren and Doonbeg Golf Resort. The region occupies a strategic location in the centre of Ireland's Atlantic seaboard. Shannon Development are now seeking to appoint suitably experienced consultants to undertake a study with a view to identifying strategically significant market led flagship tourism projects of scale, of relevance to the Region and Shannon Airport which can be developed within the Shannon Region. It is intended that the study will address the future tourism product needs within the identified Study Area. The Brief incorporates three distinct stages: โ To carry out detailed research to identify tourism projects of scale applicable to the Shannon Region. โ To undertake detailed market research into these identified tourism projects and to others (see Appendix 3 of the document included with this notice) to identify the likely market demand, scale and project composition. โ To prepare a detailed feasibility study on two of the proposals outlined in the two previous stages.
