CfT for the establishment of a framework agreement to provide on-site and off-site, professional archival services, on an ad hoc basis, to the Military Archives.
The Military Archives is the place of deposit for the records of the Defence Forces, Department of Defence and the Army Pensions Board, under the terms of the National Archives of Ireland Act, 1986. As well as state records, the Archives holds over a thousand private collections, oral history recordings and nationally significant items of material culture. The Military Archives provides a full-time, professional, public service as well as fulfilling a wide array of internal functions within the Defence Forces. From time to time, the services of contract archivists are required in order to catalogue material for public inspection and to work on other specific projects of a set duration as identified. 2. The contractor is required to provide professional archival services, on an ad hoc basis, for the purpose of archival project work undertaken for the Military Archives, for the duration of the framework agreement. 3. These services may be required on a full time or part time basis, on-site or at another location, as projects demand. However, it is anticipated the majority of contact work will take place on-site on a full-time basis (mon-fri, 9-5) for the duration of the respective projects. 4. These archival services must be provided by professionally qualified archivists (as per selection criteria). 5. The contractor will be required to provide a monthly invoice, in arrears, for all services provided during that period, by the last working day of each month. 6. Archivists providing the required services will be required to undergo, if necessary, security clearance and to comply with any other statutory or regulatory requirements, and to undertake any health and safety, manual handling, work-assist vehicle or other training associated with working at the Military Archives and necessary for the completion of their project work.
