The current tool has a number of key challenges that require new and innovative solutions to deliver the required margins capability to EirGrid for a system with a high penetration of renewables, energy-limited plant, energy storage units and multiple interconnection points. The Margins Tool is a component of the wider Outage Management Ecosystem. EirGrid envisages qualifying three (3) Candidates from this pre-qualification process.
