The Celtic Interconnector is a joint venture between EirGrid/SONI and its French counterpart, Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE) in France, to develop a means of transporting electricity between Ireland and Central Europe and recoupling the SEM with Europe’s Internal Energy Market. The Celtic Interconnector is a 700MW HVDC cable connecting France to Ireland which will enable the cross-border transmission of electricity and is planned to energise on Q4 2026. In respect of above EirGrid/SONI requires a RCC Core Hub. The solution we are seeking to procure is a “close to real time” application called the “Core Hub” that will receive dynamic data that is transformed, validated and displayed to the user in a dashboard. The dashboard should show the status of the data exchanges, provide notifications, error handling and visually represent the data to the user. The data from the “Core Hub” will be sent to the central EU platforms. The solution may be required to support the user in the validation of results, including power flow analysis, of multiple power systems conditions (e.g. different generation outages and topologies, various intermittent generation output forecasts etc.) and summarise the results and binding elements succinctly to the user. Performance, reliability and usability are key metrics for this 24/7 application. Please see the contract documents for further details.
