Enniscorthy Flood Defence Scheme – River Slaney Road Bridge and Approaches

The scheme is to provide a bridge structure, south of Enniscorthy town centre, that is required to provide a connection between the N11 on the east side of the River Slaney and the N30 on the west side of the river. The works will include the construction of a new road bridge, approach ramps, roundabouts, retaining walls, working adjacent to and over a live rail line and working adjacent to and over the River Slaney. The bridge comprises a 3 span arrangement with the following approximate span lengths; 49 m west span, 68 m centre span, 57 m east span, provided square to the river. The bridge comprises a pair of steel boxes made composite with a precast and Insitu reinforced concrete deck. The western span crosses the Dublin to Rosslare Railway Line, the central span over the River Slaney and the eastern span over the River Slaney floodplain and woodland area.

The time limit for receipt of tenders was 2020-04-02. The procurement was published on 2020-02-05.
