Iarnrod Eireann-Irish Rail

Iarnród Éireann (IE) is a subsidiary company of Córas Iompair Éireann which is the publicly owned transport company of Ireland.
Its role is to provide rail transport and Harbour Management services within the State of Ireland.
The company is wholly owned by the Irish Government.
IE currently has a simulator system which is used to provide basic and advanced driving-skills training for trainee drivers and experienced drivers respectively.
These simulators are used:
— To provide initial training in train handling techniques and in the application of the full range of rules and procedures;
— To provide mandatory biennial refresher training on infrequently applied rules and procedures during normal, degraded and emergency operating modes;
— To assess the application of IÉ's rules and procedures in all operating modes;
— To assist the training of fault-finding procedures.
IÉ are now seeking companies to participate in a tender process for either the upgrading of the existing equipment, hardware and software or if commercially viable propose a replacement of the existing equipment with a new or equivalent product. To compliment IÉ's established training processes.

The time limit for receipt of tenders was 2015-11-11. The procurement was published on 2015-10-13.
