Bord Na Móna (www.bordnamona.ie) is currently completing an Enterprise Architecture (EAP II) design replacing the existing Novell architcture. The output of this Design phase will inform the specifications of this EAP II Build phase. The EAP II design is aligned to a previously defined Long Term Architecture. Bord Na Mona would like to invite interested parties to tender for the provisioning and implementation of this new Microsoft based architecture in line with the service driven architecture that will be defined in the EAP II design. This solution will include a suite of Microsoft applications inclusive of Active Directory (migration from Novell eDirectory and existing AD), migration of mail services from GroupWise to MS Exchange and upgrade of End User Compute & Security services including a full Microsoft Windows upgrade (Windows 7) and Microsoft Office 2013 upgrade. Microsoft Share Point and Lync will be integrated into the solution to provide collaboration and file sharing services. The end user computer and applications estate will be managed by Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012 R2 (migration from Novell ZENWorks). The EAP II Microsoft architecture server components will be hosted in a primary data centre located in Bord na Móna headquarters in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland. The design and implementation of the data centres and associated facilities is not within the scope of this tender. There are a total of 47 Bord na Móna sites where end user IT devices are used. These are located throughout the island of Ireland with a site in the United Kingdom. A telecommunications network exists linking all sites back to the primary site in Newbridge with bandwidth links of between 28KB and 100MB, depending on usage. Existing usage: Number of Business Units: 5, Number of application end users: 883.
