Irish Rail is seeking innovative proposals for the design, supply, and installation of equipment to provide an energy saving benefit on the roof mounted heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) module on the Class 29000 Diesel powered train fleet. The 29000 fleet are fitted with two types of the roof mounted HVAC models which were manufactured by MERAK of Spain in 2003, 116 cars in the fleet is equipped with a Salon HVAC unit, Model NoRP-28, MERAK Part No 680A171, and 58 driving cars (DM1 & DM2) is equipped with a Cab HVAC unit also made by Merak, Part No 680A172. In addition to the 116 salon types Irishrail have 5 spare saloon modules and also 2 spare cab modules in addition to the 58 modules. The proposed equipment must be capable of providing improvements to the energy efficiency of the HVAC system / Train and must also produce a reduction in Irish Rails operational costs.
The Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is available on the Irish E-Tender web site, economic operators who are interested in this project should go to http://www.etenders.gov.ie register their company if not already registered and thereafter note their interest. Economic Operators can either download or be issued the PQQ. Having received the PQQ economic operators are then required to read the document in its entirety, and if interested in participating in the process they are required to complete the PQQ in accordance with the instructions detailed therein.
