External Consultancy Performance Improvement Unscheduled Care
The Minister for Health has established a Special Delivery Unit (SDU) within his Department. The development of the Unit is a key part of plans to radically reform the health system in Ireland. The priorities encompass waiting times for unscheduled and scheduled care and the introduction of a major upgrade in the performance capabilities of the Irish health system.
While the role of the SDU is evolving, its immediate priorities, set by the Minister for Health encompass:
โ emergency departments โ waiting times for admission,
โ in-patient waiting times,
โ out-patient waiting times โ the time from gp referral to an appointment,
โ access to diagnostics.
In order to allow the SDU to deliver on its mandate, the Department is seeking to procure external consultancy services in relation to Performance Improvement for Unscheduled Care, on a fixed-term contract for services basis.
