Updated Offshore Bedrock Map for the Irish and Celtic Seas (Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment)
With the growing interest in offshore wind energy around Ireland, there is an increasing demand for a more detailed understanding of the rock types that are exposed on and underly the Irish seabed. In 2016, Geological Survey Ireland (GSI) contributed a coarse offshore bedrock map to EMODnet Geology*, providing a valuable baseline for geological assessments โ this was based on available data and studies at the time. However, this existing map is no longer fit for purpose and does not meet the evolving โฆ View the procurement ยป
