Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Waste and Environmental Management Services at the Institute of Technology Tralee. The Institute of Technology has a requirement for the provision of a waste and environmental management service for the collection, transportation, reuse, recycling and disposal of waste from the Institute of Technology Tralee. The Institute is located over two campuses within Tralee and the successful supplier will be expected to service all of the buildings and grounds at these locations. The Institute primary peak periods follow the academic year which is September to Mid December and January to May. A reduced service would be required outside of these periods. The contract will initially be offered for a period of one year with the provision for four further one-year extensions up to a maximum term of five years unless the contract is re-advertised in the meantime. The Institute reserves the right to extend the scope of this contract to include other waste products & materials. Presently the Institute recycles a percentage of its waste but would like to significantly improve on this figure. The successful service provider will be expected to complete regular waste audits and present the Institute with innovative, value for money solutions to improve its environmental performance in relation to its waste management practices.
