Preservation services of exhibits

National Museum of Ireland

Taxidermy Service - Object Conservation. The National Museum of Ireland โ€“ Natural History has a requirement for the services of an experienced taxidermist. The collections of taxidermy in the museum are up to 150 years old and many animals require specialist conservation-restoration. The framework will apply to traditional taxidermy in the form of mounted skins and skeletons of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Many of the pieces are rare, fragile and/or historically important. The museum does not employ a taxidermist and does not maintain a taxidermy studio. The successful contractor will have to provide their own studio for all work and cover the costs of transport of objects to and from their studio.
