The development of designs for Metro and Luas lines gives rise to a requirement for the production of 3d images and animations. These images are used typically for public consultation in order to convey the visual impact of various configurations of system, stop or station and other structures to illustrate concepts as part of public consultation newsletters, for inclusion in EIS documentation and for general use in publicity material such as displays, site boards, posters and newspaper or TV advertisements. The images and animations are sometimes required for design purposes and for training or exhibition and presentations Images types range from simple freehand sketches to full scale broadcast quality animations and are typically required in various formats such as .tiff, Jpeg, .mov or avi. Finished production versions of stand alone DVD or web products may also be required.
