Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: EOI Procurement of Bio-Pharma / Pharmaceutical Equipment for FÁS Cork. The Industrial Development Agency (IDA), in its 2004 annual report, showed a trend in employment in the bio-pharmaceutical industry. At present there are approximately 20 000 persons employed in this sector. These employment figures created a demand for training of quality skilled process operatives and craftspersons. In response to this demand in 2005 FÁS decided to establish a Mini Life Sciences training facility capable of providing hands on training in various "process" operations. To further equip this Mini Life Sciences training facility, FÁS are looking for Expressions of Interest from suppliers to supply the following equipment: a) Cell Culture Equipment b) Microbiology Equipment c) Chemistry Equipment The purpose of this Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is to obtain sufficient information to enable the Contracting Authority to evaluate the suitability of potential Suppliers to meet its requirements. During the Pre-Qualification stage, the intention is to arrive at a list of up to five prospective Suppliers for formal Invitation to Tender.
