Consultancy Services for the Bathymetric Surveying of Lakes for the Water Framework Directive. As part of the implementation process of the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) 2000/60/EC, a lake typology has been developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Average lake depth is one of the typing parameters. Of the 800 plus WFD lakes, less than half have bathymetry and associated data and remain untyped. In addition, the supporting element hydromorphology requires information on residence time and shore structure. The Environmental Protection Agency would like to set up a framework agreement for the bathymetric surveying of lakes and the collection of associated data in order to satisfy the typology requirements of the Water Framework Directive, and develop an associated database for hydromorphological characteristics.
