HSE Replacement mental health facilities. It is currently envisaged that the Works, in broad terms, may consist of the construction of a HSE Mental Health residential accommodation unit extending to circa 7 350 sq. metres over between 1 and 3 floors (comprising, in particular, of intensive care bedrooms, continuing care bedrooms, respite rehabilitation bedrooms, clinical and therapy suites and other non clinical support areas) and related elements of infrastructure and extensive hard and soft external landscaping which will be consistent with the future development of the Grangegorman site. Special medical equipment and loose furniture will be procured through a separate contract. The site is located within the grounds of St. Brendan's Hospital, Grangegorman, Dublin 7. It is currently envisaged that the Works may include, without limitation, the following; — anti-ligature requirements (and coordination of trades to ensure no anti-ligature points), — working within the grounds of a live mental healthcare hospital, — working adjacent protected structures, — extensive brickwork on external facades, — hard and soft landscaping including lighting and security cameras, — internal courtyards & open spaces, — green roofs and outdoor roof terrace areas, — temporary surface car parking spaces, — completion of the new vehicular entrance from the North Circular Road to the boundary wall (a Protected Structure), — provision of temporary containerised plant, — boundary treatments and all other necessary site development and excavation works above and below ground. It is currently envisaged that the works may involve the successful contractor taking an active role in liasing with the local community and project stakeholders etc, providing updates / forums for discussion etc. An enabling works contract to clear the site, remove invasive weed (and backfill where appropriate) and construction of the entrance road from the North Circular Road into the site will commence shortly.
