The Portarlington Water Supply Improvement Scheme, provides for the harnessing of 9 No. of bored water production wells at La Bergerie(3No.), Doolough(4No.) and at Lough(2.No)(all located south of the town), construction of a 5 000 m3 storage reservoir at Carrick Hill, installation of an Iron and Manganese removal system, control building, Load proportional Chlorine and Fluoride Dosing, associated rising mains and distribution mains. The new system will be capable of treating and supplying approximately 5 000 m3 of water to the new reservoir. The works may involve the execution of additional and repetition of similar works and services.
