Portlaoise Motorway PPP Contract. The Portlaoise Motorway PPP Contract (the "PPP Project") is intended to comprise the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance (see further detail below regarding the extent of operation and maintenance element) of approximately 41km of standard 2-lane motorway, approximately 3km of single carriageway link roads, approximately 15 km of side roads, 3 grade separated junctions and a Motorway to Motorway Interchange, including a toll collection system, (the "Intended Works"). The extent of the Intended Works that will be included, and the services that will be required to be provided, in the operation and maintenance element are yet to be determined and further details will be provided in the tender documents. The Authority also reserves the right to include motorway service areas and/or rest areas as part of the design and construction and/or the operation and maintenance elements. The Authority reserves the right at its absolute discretion to extend the design, construction, operation, maintenance, tolling and/or finance element to include other parts of the national road network.
