Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: CD 1049/11 Dublin Airport Terminal 2 Envelope Package. The envelope package comprises of the design, manufacture, deliver and install of the complete weather cladding system to Dublin Airport Terminal 2. The cladding system will be based on a primary cassette system, followed by a secondary weather-tight layer. A number of different cladding systems will be utilised through-out the building envelope, including roof light modules, structural glazing and systemised curtain walling. The package also includes Brie Soleil, Smoke Vents, Louvres and Rainwater goods. The package has been formed to provide a complete weatherproof solution, so all design interfaces will be managed by this package. Joint ventures between roofing companies and glazing companies will be welcomed. The scope of works includes the Cladding to the Main Terminal and Check-in building, Link bridges, Canopies and Walkways. It may also include the proposed Pier E. It is proposed that the works will be let in a two stage tender. Stage 1 tenderers will be invited to provide a schedule of rates, together with outline programmes and proposed design and management teams. The most pro-active company will be invited to design up to production stage, which is targeted as April 2007 and then enter into a fixed price lump sum agreement for the delivery of the package. The design phase should commence January 2007 and the site works should commence September 2007, all works to be complete by January 2008.
