Meath Partnership, on behalf of the Meath Local Action Group, is inviting tenders for the provision of external expertise to research, draft and produce a Community Greenspaces Development Guide for Co. Meath. Community greenspaces, including community gardens, pocket parks, educational plots, biodiversity corners and shared outdoor learning areas, have emerged as important spaces for social interaction, environmental stewardship and local food production. They bring people together across age groups, cultures and backgrounds, while also strengthening resilience in our communities. The creation of a clear, practical and accessible guide, designed specifically for the context of Co. Meath, will support local communities to plan, establish and manage greenspaces that deliver long term benefits for both people and the local environment. The purpose of this guide is to empower local groups to establish and sustain community greenspaces of all scales. It will provide step by step guidance, case studies and practical tools to enable groups to overcome barriers such as limited space, access to resources and ongoing maintenance. The guide will contribute to wider objectives of promoting environmental sustainability, strengthening social inclusion, encouraging healthy living and enhancing overall community wellbeing across Co. Meath.
