Smartply Europe DAC are seeking suitably qualified engineering companies to supply and install an upgraded air compressor heat recovery system at our site at Belview Port Waterford. This system is to improve compressor operating conditions and provide a sustainable hot water source for the SAP cleaning process. The new system will repurpose parts of the existing pipework and buffer tanks but replace unfit components with new equipment as per the design and drawings attached. There are two existing buffer tanks in place with existing pipework. Some of the existing pipework leads over to an existing calorifier. The works includes: โข Calorifier Replacement: Remove the existing 800 L stainless steel cylinder and install a new 1,200 L stainless steel calorifier (New calorifier will be purchased by Smartply and onsite for installation). Adjust existing pipework to accommodate the 200 mm taller unit, the red line below roughly the height of the new unit โข Break Tank and Booster System: Supply and install a 1,000 L plastic break tank complete with ball cock above the calorifier on the well water circuit. Supply and install a Wilo Helix booster pump set to pressurise the calorifier with well water. Install two 100 L PN16 pressure vessels on this circuit. โข Heat Dump System: Supply and install a heat dump system consisting of two LPHW unit heaters, a circulating pump, and associated insulated pipework and fittings adjacent to the existing buffer tanks. We plan on using this wasted heat to heat our resin. We plan on putting the two fans at a height, shown in the red box below, in the same room as the buffer tanks as this is not an Atex zone. These will reclaim waste heat to warm resin pumps and pipework. The resin is stored in a room on the opposite side of the wall shown, which may be classified as an ATEX zone. Our plan is to install the fans on the non-ATEX side of the wall and run ducting through the wall, so the warm air emerges behind the resin tanks. This heated air will then be directed toward the resin pumps and pipework in front of the tanks to keep them warm. โข LPHW Circuit Upgrades: Supply and install a Grundfos twin-head pump, an air/dirt separator, and associated fittings between the existing buffer tanks and the new calorifier to ensure efficient heat transfer. โข Electrical + Controls: Install the free-issued power and control panel, including all power cabling to pumps, motorised valves, and heat dump fans, as well as sensor cables and sensors as detailed on the Heat Recovery P+ID.
