This project proposes completing the Kenmare Relief Road linking R569 to the east with the N70 and N71 to the west of Kenmare town. It will be designed and constructed in accordance with prescribed technical standards, statutory provisions and service requirements, in a manner that addresses the significant defects in line with project. The proposed project will tie in with the existing R569 Pat Scarteen Road (Kenmare Relief Road Phase 1) to the east and to the N71 Killarney Road/N70 Cahersiveen road (Ring of Kerry) to the West. It will provide important access and access to several developments in Kenmare including: โ€ข Linking the completed R569 Pat Scarteen Road (Kenmare Relief Road Phase 1) to the N70/N71 โ€ข Eliminating the need for residents of Riverside Villas, Pรกirc Clonee, Pรกirc An Callan, Oaklands, Dromneavane Estate, Sunnyhill Grove and Kilmurry Close to navigate Kenmareโ€™s narrow streets to access Killarney or Cork. It is estimated from CSO data (Private Households in Permanent Housing Units 2011 to 2016) that there are approx. 1,200 residents living in these housing estates. This route is identified as a future inner relief road in Kenmare Local Area Plan 2024-2030.

Changes
Other additional information
We wish to inform you that Kenmare Relief Road Phase 2 has been cancelled. This cancellation is necessary due to an error in the workflow configuration on the eTenders platform, which prevents tenderers from uploading submissions. As this issue cannot be rectified within the current procedure, and in line with EU public procurement rules ensuring transparency and equal treatment, the contracting authority must cancel the process to avoid any unfair disadvantage to participants. A new tender procedure will be published shortly on eTenders and will enable EOs to submit proposals under the corrected workflow.
