Lots will not be awarded separately. Lot 1: This contingency service is tested two times minimum per annum. The test of the contingency requires the transport of 72 blood donor samples (1 box) to be transported from the NBC to the SNBTS Lot 2: In the event of a real donor testing contingency service being required by the IBTS it is important that the blood donor samples (2,000 โ 4,000 samples) are transported to the SNBTS as soon as possible so that the SNBTS can complete the testing required by the IBTS as the results are required to allow for the release of blood and blood products to the hospitals. Lot 3 (a) The IBTS on occasion imports blood components from other blood transfusion services to meet patientsโ needs. This process is managed by the IBTS medical team, the Red Cell Immunohaematology Laboratory (RCI) and the Scientific Support and Component Development (SSCD) departments. These units must be transported under appropriate temperature and environmental conditions in a timely manner. (b) The IBTS on occasion imports bulk blood for stock reasons using IBTS vehicles and IBTS drivers. These importations require customs and logistical support in person accompanying the driver on both the outward and inward journey. The timeline for notification of the requirement for this in person support for importation can vary. It may be 24 hours from initial contact from IBTS to delivery of imported components to the IBTS. The IBTS provides transport containers according to internal requirements and differ between LOT 1 and 2 and Lot 3. Transport boxes may contain infectious materials.
