The following specialist works are required:
• vertically installed submersible axial flow pumps for the proposed White-Water Rafting Centre:
— The operation of the proposed White-Water Rafting Centre requires chlorinated water (treated to swimming pool quality) to be pumped up to a high point channel from where it discharges downstream around the course to create White-Water Rapids;
— 4 No vertically installed submersible axial flow pumps are required to achieve same with a combined discharge rate (over the four pumps combined) of 14 m
— these 4 No pumps will be housed in a reinforced concrete sump to be built as part of the course construction;
— six further ancillary wet well pumps are required for other elements of the course operation such as delivering water to the water treatment plant and operation of the rescue village.
The specialist providers are to design, supply, install and commission the works in compliance with all statutory regulations, National and E.U. Law and industry standards particularly in relation to the preparation of technical drawings/specifications and the contractor tender process.
