It has come to light, upon review of clarifications received from a number of interested parties as part of this tender process, that due to the proprietary nature of the core elements of machinery already in place (both the software and hardware, together with relevant manufacture and service documentation), that certain aspects of our requirements for this contract can only be delivered by the original manufacturer. Whilst we did consider breaking up the requirements such that a number of different parties could deliver different elements of the contract, it is apparent that same would not represent best value for money, which is of course a key consideration for NUI Galway, as a public institution. In light of the above, we regret that we have no choice but to collapse this competition at this time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
