South Dublin County Council currently has jurisdiction over approximately 9200 dwellings. Dwelling consist predominantly of traditionally built 1 storey and 2 storey houses and flats, and 3 storey apartment blocks and duplex units of various sizes. South Dublin County Council are looking to establish a new framework for the provision of services related to Security Shuttering of properties by means of installation, maintenance of metal screens to windows and doors and monitoring to prevent unauthorised access and to reduce the risk of vandalism, squatting, theft and danger to the public.
Approximately 200 units are vacated by tenants each year and any such vacated properties are termed โReletsโ and may be secured, whilst refurbishment is undertaken prior to being re-let. Please note that not all properties vacated are secured by the installation of metal screens.
The scope of works is likely to include, but not limited to:
โ steel security door screens,
โ fixed security window screens,
โ out of hours call out vacant properties,
โ any additional elements associated with the works listed above.
There will also be a need to have flexibility in the contract as South Dublin County Council operates 5 days per week with after-hours emergency call out service. Furthermore there may be a short window to have units completed for security purposes and South Dublin County Council would require that installation of required screening is completed with 3 hours of specified order being received.
The Framework Agreement will initially be issued for a term of 1 year. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to extend the Term for a period of up to 1 year with a maximum of 3 such extensions on the same terms and condition.
