Fáilte Ireland wishes to establish a contract for the provision of the following environmental services: 1. Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) consultancy services compliant with the principles and requirements of the S.E.A. 2001/42/EC, European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004 to 2011 and the European Communities (1992) Council Directive 92/43/EEC (the Habitats Directive); 2. Environmental surveying and monitoring services which may be required to support potential mitigation measures arising from these assessments. From time to time Fáilte Ireland produces plans relating to tourism development and in some instances Strategic Environmental Assessment and/ or Appropriate Assessment of these plans may be required (e.g. as was the case in 2015 for the Wild Atlantic Way Operational Programme 2015-2019). At this stage however the number of plans for which SEA and AA are required under the contract are not known and no existing plans currently require these assessments. However, a significant element of this contract also relates to the provision of environmental surveying and monitoring services, and upon appointment the successful tenderer will be required to immediately commence work on the implementation of the Strategy for Environmental Surveying and Monitoring for the Wild Atlantic Way and as outlined in Appendix 2 of this document.
