S14-20 - Framework Agreement for a single supplier for the digitisation of archive records

Valuation Office

The Valuation Office has a manuscript archive containing rateable valuation details of all property in the state from the mid 1850s until the early 1990s. This archive is recognised as a census substitute for the period from the 1850s to 1901. It is the intention of the Valuation Office to preserve this unique resource by having the documents scanned to digital images and to have those images made available for public access. Following the successful completion of a limited digitisation exercise it is now considered that the digitisation of the remaining books may be undertaken.
