This is a purchase of a Slide Scanner coordinated by the Department of Pathology for the School of Medicine, NUI Galway. Funding sources comprises of (with % contributions): Alliance University College of Medical Science (AUCMS) Teaching Budget 42 % University Foundation 27 % PRTLI Cycle 5 31 % Should there be any changes in the proposed funding then NUI Galway reserve the right not to purchase the equipment as advertised and we also reserve the right to alter our requirements in line with the availability of funding.
The purchase of a Slide Scanner and associated software packages will have applications to both teaching and research throughout the University. Many of our teaching programmes traditionally employ glass slide microscopy as part of practical training. The scanner will provide the means to digitalise microscopy slides creating a permanent record, and to develop interactive microscopy-based teaching sessions and integrated on-line teaching modules. In addition, this digital slide scanning facility will be employed by a wide range of research groups across the University, allowing users to digitise microscopy slides, review and manage the images locally or remotely via the internet.

Therefore, tenderers are advised to ensure that they return fully completed tender documents in order to avoid risk of elimination from the competition โ€” The lowest or indeed any tender need not necessarily be accepted. โ€” Due to resourcing constraints, NUI Galway will not be offering individual debriefing meetings to unsuccessful bidders. Lodging of Appeals: The contracting authority will not conclude this framework agreement, to which a standstill period applies in accordance with Irish Statutory Instrument SI 130 of 2010, until after the delivery of the standstill period which commences on the day following the date of notification of concerned candidates and tenderers. The duration of the standstill period will be 14 calendar days where notifications are sent electronically or by fax, or 16 calendar days where these are sent by any other means. The Statutory Instrument above provides that review procedures are available in the High Court to a person who has or has had an interest in obtaining the framework agreement (including the reviewable public contract) and alleges that he or she has been harmed or is at risk of being harmed by an infringement of the law in relation to that framework agreement and reviewable public contract.
