Ringsend Waste Water Treatment Works Extension Project - Long Sea Outfall Tunnel
The design and construction/execution of a ‘treated effluent' marine outfall system from the Ringsend Waste Water Treatment Works (WwTW) to the Irish Sea in Dublin Bay including:
- A c. 9 km Long Sea Outfall Tunnel (LSOT), c. 5m internal diameter, constructed in bedrock;
- An inlet shaft located onshore with an internal diameter of c. 20 m and up to 110 m deep.
- A c. 4 m diameter offshore marine riser shaft terminating in a ‘treated effluent' diffuser head structure located in marine water depths of 25 m.
- Marine sheet piling, culvert diversion, and related works.
