Quantity or scope: The successful candidate for lot 1โs role will be to:โ Act as the database (but not necessarily the database design) authority,โ Implement updates and maintain revisions to logical and physical models in distributed development environments,โ Liase with Oracle customer service and technical support as necessary,โ Design, develop, implement and maintain viewers for the dissemination of spatial data both internally to the Departmentโs business divisions and externally to the Departmentโs customers,โ Design, development, tuning and maintenance of packages and procedures in both Oracle and Oracle Spatial,โ Manage database security including access control and backup / restoration,โ Administer corporate and sectoral databases across development, UAT, pre-live and live environments,โ Ensure compliance with Oracle licence agreement,โ Assist with the management of the Departmentโs GIS resources, including database integration where required,โ Provide expert technical advice and support to Java development teams and analysts interfacing to PL/SQL and Oracle,โ Troubleshoot issues within a J2EE Development environment interfacing to GIS technologies and Oracle/Oracle Spatial,โ Database monitoring and performance optimisation,โ Tuning and Optimising Oracle and Oracle Spatial queries,โ Data and spatial data loading,โ Remote management of database services.
