Institute of Technology, Tallaght (hereafter ITT Dublin) is a third level College situated in South County Dublin. It was established as a Regional Technical College in 1992. There are now over 5 200 students enrolled, of whom, 1 800 are pursuing their studies on a part time basis.
ITT Dublin currently uses the SCT Banner System for management of student information. This system is run on Oracle 10G and is hosted externally.
In order to improve our business processes and enable us to manage applications with less administrative staff the Institute now requires an admissions system which will manage student applications. The admissions system will handle all student applications with the exception of students applying via the CAO or Bluebrick. The admissions system will manage applications and associated decision making processes up to and including the granting of a place on a course. After a student has been awarded a place on a course the Banner system will manage the student information.
