National Rehabilitation Hospital

The National Rehabilitation Hospital are planning the construction of a new healthcare building.
This proposed building will provide for 120 bed ward accommodation with ensuite facilities, and an environment that will accommodate programme specific integrated therapy spaces on each ward, living and social spaces, and ward clinical ancillary facilities.
The proposed building will be in the region of 18 000 m2 overall and will be multi-storey. The building will provide direct, accessible and appropriate linakges with the adjacent existing hospital building/facilities.
The National Rehabilitation Hospital now wish to individually appoint the members of a design team for the project. Design team members required include Architect (including Employers Representative and Project Supervisor Design Process roles), Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical & Electrical Engineer, Civil & Structural Engineer and Project Manager. The services will typically include taking the brief and engaging with the client to clarify the requirements, obtaining statutory approvals, preparation of detailed design and tender documentation, management of the tender process, administration of the works contract, cost control including agreement of final accounts, management of the handover process including the provision of handover documentation to the client and all required interaction and reporting to the client throughout the process etc.

Individual expressions of interest/submissions are sought from candidates for each of the different disciplines to form the overall professional team to oversee this project. All candidates should ensure that the pre-qualification documentation is completed in full and that accompanying supporting documentation as appropriate is supplied as appendices to inform the evaluation process. If the NRH so request, candidates will be required to attend clarification meetings at NRH Hospital, entirely at their own expense at both the short listing stage and also at tender stage prior to any award of contract. No candidate will be reimbursed for any expense incurred in tendering. The contracting authority accepts no liability for these costs, irrespective of the outcome of the competition, or if the competition is postponed or cancelled, irrespective of all potential reasons which could inform the contracting authorities decision for termination of the process. The Freedom of Information Acts 1997 and 2003 apply to this contact. Tenderers shall state if any (and the reason why) information supplied by them in response to this notice is either confidential or commercially sensitive or should not be disclosed in respect of a request for information under the Freedom of Information Acts 1997 and 2003. The relevant material will, in response to a request under the Act, be examined in the light of exemptions provided for in the Act. The successful Candidate(s) to whom it is proposed to award the contract lots(s) will be required, before acceptance of this tender, to comply with the tax clearance procedures for the Irish public sector. The contracting authority may terminate this competition (or any part thereof), change the basis of and the procedures for the bidding process, at any time, or procure the project by alternative means if it appears that the project can thereby be more advantageously procured. The most economically advantageous tender will not automatically be accepted.
