The provision of a pilot launch for the Port of Cork

The Port owns and operates 2 pilot launches. The Port will usually keep pilot launches in service for approximately 15 years. Presently the launches are 5 and 14 years respectively.
The Port of Cork Company now requires a new pilot launch which is to be designed and built to requirements of a classification society (to be appointed by POCC) and/or the Irish Department of Transport, Maritime section. The vessel must comply with the regulations that govern Irish registered passenger vessels. The pilot launch will be constructed of GRP or marine grade aluminium alloy.
The vessel will have a LOA of 13/15 metres approximately, Beam O.A. 4 metres approx., cruising speed of 22 to 25 knots.
The anticipated delivery date of the vessel is the last quarter 2012.
