The Works comprise the design and construction of the new Children's Hospital of Ireland which has a floor area of 116,000 sq m accommodated within 16 floors over ground floor level. This accommodation includes provision for 445 beds in single bed wards, 13 operating theatres, other diagnostic and treatment areas, non clinical support areas, public areas and plantrooms. The Works also include the design and construction of 35,550 sq m of car parking, utilities and support functions in 4 basement levels under the hospital building.The Contracting Authority has engaged an Integrated Design Team. This team will complete an exemplar design for the hospital for which they will obtain planning consent, fire safety and disability access certificates.
