The contract is for the collection, transportation, treatment recovery and/or disposal of sewage sludge on a regular/intermittent basis, as required, from 90 Local Authority Wastewater Treatment Plants in County Cork, primarily in North and South Cork over an 18 month period. Additional wastewater treatment plants may be added to the contract over the contract period but plants may also be dropped or omitted.
The contractor shall carry out all elements of the services required to the Employer’s satisfaction and in accordance with all current planning and environmental legislation & regulations.
The contractor shall supply all necessary plant and facilities.

The contract involves the collection, transportation, treatment, recovery and/or disposal of approximately 6,578 tonnes of dewatered sludges and 35,147 cu.m of liquid sludges from 90 local authority wastewater treatment plants over an 18 month period. The majority of the plants are activated sludge treatment plants but also include some primary sludge and septic tank sludges. The dry solids concentration of the dewatered sludges will be generally between 10 and 25 % while the liquid sludges will be generally between 1 and 3 %.The contractor shall carry out all elements of the services required to the Employer’s satisfaction and in accordance with all current legislation & regulations. The contractor shall supply all necessary plant and facilities.The employer will have the option of extending the contract with the successful contractor for a further 12 month period at the tendered rates upon expiration of the contract period.
