Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: MN_301 Mater Stop Box. RPA intends to award a Design and Build contract for, among other things, the construction of the underground Stop Box at the Mater Hospital as detailed below: This will include but not limited to the following: โ Guide walls & diaphragm walls (including diaphragm wall underpinning if required), โ Diaphragm wall shear pins and curtain grouting, โ Roof slab, โ Concourse slabs and temporary propping/temporary works to allow construction/excavation of the stop, โ Internal support structures to ensure the full long term structural stability of the box, โ All starter bars/couplers to allow a following contractor to complete the works, โ Temporary staircases for access arrangements, โ Base slab including all sumps, pits and chambers, โ Anti flotation systems, โ Waterproofing and protection systems, โ Drainage systems, โ Soft eye for TBM Break In/Out, โ Potential grouting associated with TBM Break In/Out; and, โ Demolition of existing structures (398 & 400 Nth Circular Road and 25 & 26 Leo Street), โ Utility diversions, โ Temporary E&M/lighting/Ventilation/Drainage provisions. Metro North will be a combined underground and surface light rail service, segregated from traffic using tunnel, road median and green-field construction environments and will connect the Fingal County town of Swords and the townland of Belinstown to Dublin City Centre. The Metro North alignment will run along a proposed 18km corridor, from Lissenhall in North County Dublin, through Dublin Airport, to the City Centre at St. Stephenโs Green. It will have stops at Lissenhall, Seatown, Swords, Fosterstown, Dublin Airport, Dardistown, Santry Demesne (Northwood), Ballymun, Dublin City University, Griffith Avenue, Drumcondra, Mater Hospital, Parnell Square, Oโ Connell Bridge and St. Stephenโs Green. Metro North is a key element in the creation of a fully integrated rail based public transport network as envisaged in Transport 21. It will interchange with existing Luas services, DART and suburban rail services at St. Stephenโs Green via the proposed rail interconnector and with suburban and mainline rail services at Drumcondra. It will also provide Park & Ride facilities at key locations along the route so Metro North will benefit people from far beyond its immediate catchment area. The main works for Metro North is currently being procured under a separate tender process and will be delivered through a Public Private Partnership (PPP). Prior to the commencement of the main works and subject to the granting of an enforceable Railway Order by An Bord Pleanรกla, RPA intends to carry out enabling works. One of the Metro North underground stations will be located at the Mater Hospital. Due to the timing of the hospitalโs planned development of a New Adult Hospital, the Mater Stop Box for Metro North must be completed as part of the project Enabling Works. Additional information and the conditons for participation are contained in the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) which can be downloaded from the e-tenders website. The link is given below.
