Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: MN_303 Metro North Heritage Works. RPA intends to enter into a contract for the co-ordination and carrying out of Heritage Works for Metro North. Metro North will be a combined underground and surface light rail service, segregated from traffic using tunnel, road median and green-field construction environments and will connect the Fingal County town of Swords and the townland of Belinstown to Dublin City Centre. Prior to the commencement of the main works and subject to the granting of an enforceable Railway Order by An Bord Pleanála, RPA intends to carry out enabling works. Throughout the project, it will be imperative that items of historic and architectural importance are adequately protected for the duration of these works and safeguarded for the future. RPA has appointed a Conservation Architect to advise on all architectural heritage matters associated with the Metro North project. RPA, through the Conservation Architect, will develop methodologies through consultation and approval with the relevant stakeholders for a series of heritage enabling works. The Heritage Works contractor will be responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of the Heritage Works package as required as part of the Enabling Works for Metro North. It is envisaged that this will require the Heritage Works Contractor to engage and manage specialist subcontractors for significant elements of the work.
