The scheme includes for the construction of 23km's of trunk mains, a 2km rising main, upgraded treatment works (including the construction of a settlement tank, rapid gravity filters, washwater recovery tank and UV filtration tank), improvement works at the intake works and pumping station, one service reservoir and associated control building, five new valve houses and upgrades to fifteen existing valve houses. The scheme is being promoted by Mayo County Council to provide water supply infrastructure from Srah to Westport.
